The trend is no longer Work-Life Balance, but Well-Being

The branding process at Generations is a complex process. During the analytical phase, we often get to the heart of the business and the future of the industry with our clients. That’s why we know the topics that companies, depending on their size and business sector, are dealing with right now. One of these is the emergence of the Well-Being trend.

1. Ability to quickly implement a new system of work

Today, the question is not whether the style of work will change, because it has changed and permanently. Companies are optimising jobs, leaving entire floors, in some places entire buildings. They are introducing permanent home offices, they have interactive rooms, even very well-equipped studios. They have digitised many activities at record speed. They are using new applications, new tools. The challenge these days is how quickly can these changes be permanently implemented in people’s heads and behaviour if you have, say, 2-3 thousand employees. This is the key.

In every company, there are about 20% of employees who like novelty and it is no problem for them to adopt a new style of work. But what about the others? Those are a challenge for HR and project management, senior and middle management. Because you can never say that the whole company is working in a new way unless at least 80% of the company adopts the new way of working. Our job was and is to help companies in employer branding and building a new company culture and to achieve this within 2 months. Home office

2. Work-Life Balance turned into Well-Being

Companies literally barged into people’s living rooms and didn’t ask permission. The boundaries between the work environment and the home environment have been blurred. Employees feel they are working twice as much with half the effect and fatigue (also influenced by societal events and negative topics). Moreover, not everyone is comfortable working from home, not everyone has the conditions for it. There are industries and activities that cannot be done from home. How to make do, compensate and balance the work of one or the other is a finished art. It is no longer the Work-Life Balance that is important, which the employee used to manage and determine himself, but Well-Being. That is to say, real and genuine care for the employee and his/her psychological well-being, a consistent delineation of work and home, even if it is a home office. Remote management not only with emphasis on work efficiency and performance and the employee’s feelings and condition.

Into all this naturally and naturally enters the sensitive issue of our days – vaccination. Health vs. personal freedom vs. working in a collective, which are not clarified throughout society and thus the approach varies from company to company.
